About us

The education objectives of the Department of Senior Welfare and Services, STUST are to cultivate senior service professionals with international competitiveness and humanistic concern and to equip them with quality diversified senior care skills for healthy daily living.

Our faculty is made up of a distinguished team of multidisciplinary professionals, encompassing the fields of medicine, nursing, long-term care management, artificial intelligence, health care, home care management, education, etc.

The feature of our curriculum lies in the merging of theory with practice: in order to strengthen our students’ skills in senior care practice and theory, as well as in problem-solving and project-planning, our department offers an undergraduate thesis course on current senior care-related topics to foster abilities in problem-solving as well as and decision-making and analytic skills in project-planning.

Furthermore, in order to encourage our students to validate classroom theories and to reinforce practical skills, we offer a “senior care practice internship” in the fourth year at off-campus senior care institutions and corporations to close the gap between learning and practice, and to raise their competitiveness in the job market.
